Pakistan Visa Photo Requirements (US Consulate)

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Applying for a Pakistan visa through a US-based consulate or embassy? Some countries adopt the US's familiar 2×2 in (51×51 mm) photo size for applicants processing through their US consulate, instead of that country's standard photo size used elsewhere. This guide covers only that US-consulate size variant — if you're applying outside the US, check whether a different size applies.

Photo Size

Requirement
Physical (print)2 × 2 in (51 × 51 mm)
Digital (upload)600 × 600 px

600×600 px is the exact size our tool outputs — the same output used for a standard US passport photo — this variant is simply the US convention applied to the Pakistan visa. Uploading larger causes no problem; it will be resized cleanly.

Head Size

Chin to crown must be 50–69% of the photo's height — about 25–35 mm on a 51 mm-tall print, the same standard rule the US Department of State uses for its own passport photos. This variant exists specifically so applicants coming from the US can submit the exact same photo their own US passport uses — Pakistan doesn't state a separate head-size rule for this path, and a routine mismatch with the standard US photo would be a common, visible complaint that would already have prompted a stated exception (as a small number of countries, like Belize, have done for their own 2×2 in photo).

Background Color

White or off-white, free of shadows, texture, or objects — the same rule the US uses for its own passport photos. Pakistan does not state a separate background rule for this path.

Why do print and digital sizes look different? They're the same physical spec expressed in two units — see our Physical vs. Digital Photo Size guide for how the conversion works.
